I hate the contradictions: "Love your body!" Page Six raves, while Page Nine declares "Lose 10 Pounds in 10 Days!!!!!!!!"
I hate that a simple TV commercial can make a woman or young girl feel so completely ugly
All I have to say is fuck you...fuck you...fuck you.

| Fast Food Nation - An Eye-opener |

So I just finished watching the film Fast Food Nation and it blew my mind. I kind of had a vague idea of what was going on in the fast food industry and where they got their meat, but after seeing a glimpse of what it is really like, my mind is just blown away!
I never realized that there is a chance that there is some feces in the meat because sometimes the workers do not take the intestines out right because they are rushed to prepare the meat so sometimes they tear open and the feces spills all over the meat. Also, I knew how they killed the cattle, but I didn’t know that because these factories rush their workers so much that sometimes they do not do it right and the cattle are sometimes conscious during their processing. And the way some of those factories treat their workers is horrible!!!
Supersize Me kind of turned me off of fast food for health reasons, so I cut back on eating at those restaurants, but Fast Food Nation has made me totally disgusted and horrified. I needed more than health reasons to say no; I needed ethical reasons. This film gave me them.

So it finals week was this past week and the next two weekdays. I have been stressed out and sleep-deprived.....but I'm doing well....thank God.
This past Friday was my Biology final. I stayed up to 1AM or 2AM studying and then went to bed. I ended up not falling asleep until around 5-something. The next morning I hear Madelyn (my roommate) say, "Samantha, don't you have a final? It's 8:55!!!" (My test started at 8:10)
I yelled, "WHAT!!!!" and jumped out of bed and threw some jeans and a t-shirt, ran a brush through my hair, and ran out the door. I can honestly say that I have never walked so quickly up to The Hill. Anyway, so when I walked into the lecture hall, only 3 students were left. I walked down to the front to my professor and immediately said, "I just woke up 5 minutes ago. Can I still take the exam??????"
She kind of smiled and said, "Yeah, take your time." I had kind of forgotten that I still had about an hour left until the exam time was up, but often, professors will not let students take the test who have arrived after the first person done has left.
I got lucky.

I am totally having a natural high right now! I just kicked my Biology exams ass!!!!! I completely flew through it and was the first one out of the classroom. I walked out with a huge smile on my face like I just conquered a small nation. Now all I have left to say is...
...hells yeah.
Now it is time for a nap because I'm exhausted from late night studying.

It is exactly 11:30.
I think I have a sinus infection, but I hate taking medicine. BUT I don't want to be sick for my geology test this coming up Monday, so I suppose I will have to suck it up and take something for this.
I should be doing some of the tons of homework and studying I need to get done by Monday, but here I am in front of my laptop surfing Myspace, listening to music, and typing this.
The past few days have been kickass film days. I recently watched Zerophilia and Running with Scissors. I'm sure most people know what Running with Scissors is about, so I won't bother talking too much about it.
So Zerophilia is about this guy who finds out that is a Zerophiliac, which is this fiction condition where a person is born with an extra chromosome, chromosome "Z". Once a Zerophiliac has lost their virginity, they have the ability to switch their sex. When they become aroused they become the opposite sex, and once they've had an orgasm, they change back. However, once they have sex with another Zerophiliac, they can only change sex when they have sex with a Zerophiliac again. But the whole film deals with the character coming to terms with his feelings and beliefs on gender, sex, and love.
It makes me wish I could switch sexes! There are so many societal restrictions that I wouldn't have to adhere to because of it...but more so probably because I would be ostracized, but just the thought of one's sex not just being either male or female, but in a way both, is so appealing. I've just been feeling very genderqueer lately. I don't feel that I could really label myself that though because I am also very proud to be a woman. I want to keep that label because when I break through that glass ceiling, I want to do it as a queer, curvy, multiracial woman.

I was on my way to class yesterday and I saw this on the floor of the covered bridge.
I don't smoke, but for some reason seeing this made me really happy. Maybe it had to do with my love for stencils (go on and laugh). Or maybe because it reminded yet again, that perhaps I didn't choose such a dumb college to go to. It still surprises me how many other liberal people attend this university and I absolutely LOVE that!
Edit: Now I'm not saying that all liberal people smoke pot, but I've seen a lot of liberal political spray painted, stenciled art. And what is in the photo reminded me of that.

Hey, everyone! So this is my new LJ. I used to have Oriental_doll. I really disliked the username I had for that account and I was just tired of it in general, so here is the brand spankin' new one!
I don't feel too much like write anything right now, so under the LJ-cut are some pics of Superbowl night at my friend Gracie's house.
(Note: Don't think I like football. I only watched the game because they wanted to. I am not a fan. And that is all.)
